Book Reports
The image above is for one of the records for an ancestor of Rich’s located in the Church of San Martino in Cerreto Sannita. Records date back to the mid 1500’s and the language is Latin and/or Italian. The records are in ledger books kept in a metal cabinet. The Parrish Priest has to give permission for someone to review the records.
Rich and Johanna visited Cerreto Sannita in 2007 with an interpreter and met with the Parrish Priest who showed them a page in one of the books. When a different priest took over you can immediately tell by the change in handwriting. Rich and Johanna thanked the priest and made an appropriate donation to the church.
