McQuade Family History
Records that date back to the late 1700’s in Ireland indicate that at that time there were 2 McQuade families that eventually immigrated to Scotland. It is highly likely that at some point further back in time these two families have a common ancestor. Because neither of their parents are known, it’s possible they were brothers. On this website, one family line begins with Robert McQuade who was born around 1793. One of his descendants, Archibald Braebender McQuade, moved to Canada around 1917 and started a family there.
The other family line starts with James McQuade, born in Ireland around 1790, although that estimated birthdate is uncertain as are the birthdates of his children. This line also immigrated to Glasgow, Scotland and stayed there for several generations before some of them moved elsewhere.
