Alice Amelia Tyrrell MOUNT OLIVE TWP. - Alice Amelia Tyrrell died Friday at Dover General Hospital after a short illness. She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and lived in Huntington, N.Y., before moving to Flanders 19 years ago. Mrs. Tyrrell was employed by Bell Telephone Labs in Whippany as a reproduction coordinator for more than 15 years. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and St. Michael's R.C. Church in Netcong. Surviving are her husband, Robert W.; a son, Robert J., at home; two daughters, Johanna Marie Barbieri, Vernon, Conn., and Margaret Krzywda, Lake Hopatcong; her mother, Hannah Frey, Flanders; two sisters, Genevieve Lennon, Huntington Station, N.Y., and Dolores Maloney, Flanders; and three grandchildren. Anthony Barbieri, 78, of 91 Jasper St. died yesterday in St. Joseph's Hospital after a short illness. Born in Italy, he came to the United States and resided in Paterson for the past 71 years. He was a silk manufacturer and former owner of the B and B Silk Co. Surviving are his wife, the former Felice Conforti; five sons, Carmine of Totowa, Matthew of Wyckoff, Anthony of Little Falls, Samuel and Richard, both of Paterson; five daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Christine) Campiglia of Lake Hiawatha, Mrs. Rueben (Philo- mena) Weber of Paterson, and Mrs. Andrew (Ann) Vanore, Mrs. Daniel (Carmella) Garofalo, and Mrs. Gerard (Lucy) Iannarone, all of Totowa; four brothers, Reginald of Totowa, Nicholas and Columbus, both of Paterson, and Patrick of Dearborn, Mich.; a sister, Mrs. James (Carmella) Lampariello of Wayne; 16 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Prior to retiring in 1977, she was a data processing supervisor with Atlantic and Pacific Tea Company in Paterson for ten years. Loving and devoted mother of Teresa Barbieri and Anthony "Tony" Barbieri and wife, Laura. Cherished grandmother of Alyssa and Nicole Barbieri. Dear sister of Joan Carfi, Eleanor Decker, Joseph, Edward and Salvatore Carfi and the late John, Alfred and Anna Carfi. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. My records show he was born in 1927 which would make him 88 years old not 78. Also, Pacifico P. Barbieri married Dorothy Ventura in 1973 in Paterson. Records show that in 1962 Dorothy Zangara married John Ventura so her maiden name was Zangara and her name from the first marriage was Ventura.

There was a policeman named Barbieri in the Denzel Washington movie "The Hurricane" which took place in Paterson, NJ

BARBIERI- Anthony M. of LITTLE FALLS died Friday.
Born in Paterson, NJ, Mr. Barbieri resided in Paterson before moving to Little Falls over 70 years ago. He retired in 1987 as County Comptroller for the County of Passaic. Mr. Barbieri served on the Township Committee in Little Falls from 1965-74, serving as Mayor in 1970 and 1971.

Mr. Barbieri was a parishioner of Holy Angels RC Church, Little Falls and was a US Army Veteran of World War II. He was a founder of the Little Falls Italian American Club; a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars; Our Lady of the Highway Council #3835, Knights of Columbus of Little Falls and the Little Falls Democratic Club.

He was predeceased by his wife, the former Eleanor Pettinelli; his two brothers, Carmine and Samuel Barbieri; and his five sisters, Carmella Garofalo, Christine Campiglia, Ann Vanore, Philomena Weber and Lucy Iannarone.
Survivors include: his son, Dennis C. Barbieri of Little Falls; and his two brothers, Matthew Barbieri of Wyckoff, NJ and Richard Barbieri of Maine.

Emma earned her certification by the Civil Service and worked for many years as a supervisor for Workman's Compensation in Paterson. She was a devoted parishioner at Our Lady of Pompeii Church where she was also a member of the Seniors Group and the Rosary Society. She also served as President of the Mother's Club at St. Bonaventure Church in Paterson. She was the beloved wife of the late Leo Joseph Cece for nearly 75 years before his passing in 2013. She was the cherished mother of Judith Treloar, Barbara Costagliola and the late Patricia Urgo and her husband Victor. She was the adored grandmother of ten grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sisters Patricia Dower and Mafalda lozzia and is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4-8 PM at Santangelo Funeral Home, 635 McBride Ave., Woodland Park, NJ. ORMOND BEACH -- Elizabeth G. Ligieri, 84, of Sea Dance Terrace, who formerly worked for the Flagler Beach Gift Shop, died Friday at Indigo Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Daytona Beach.
Mrs. Ligieri, who also was a homemaker, moved to this area in 1979 from her native Paterson, N.J. She previously lived in Flagler Beach and was a member of Santa Maria del Mar Catholic Church. Mrs. Ligieri enjoyed knitting and crochet.
Survivors include a son, Leonard, Pompton Lakes, N.J.; two daughters, Linda Smith, Ormond Beach, and Barbara Caffery, Anderson, S.C.; a brother, Richard Koppers, Hazlet, N.J.; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice. Craig-Flagler Palms, Flagler Beach, is in charge.

Harrisburg, is in charge of arrangements Mr Loeffier was born Oct 14, 1923, in Paterson, N. J. He was the son of Henry and Agnes (Sutherland) Loeffler He was a special fitter for Public Service Electric and Gas Co. He was an Air Force veteran of World War 11 and a member of the Masons, York store United Methodist Church, Na tional Guard of New Jersey,Reserves in New Jersey, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10104 in Totowa. NJ and Totowa Rescue Unit. He was a civil defense director in Tolowa for more than 20 years and in Haledon. NJ. for more than 10 years. Mr Loeffler also is survived by a son. Robert Loeffler of Ohio, two daughters. Elaine Mamary of York and Lisa Batzel of New York, and six grandchildren. Officiating at the service will be the Rev William Butts.

Loving sister of Benjamin, Rocco and Ronald Barbieri and Mary Nancy Marzella and the late Carmine, Gabriel, Pat, Nickolas, Reginald and Anthony Barbieri and Jenny Sciarro and Josephine Barbieri. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Born in Paterson, she lived in Totowa for most of her life before moving to Little Falls. Josephine Barbieri Becomes Bride Of Samuel Girlando Sunday afternoon at 4:00 o'clock in Saint James R.C. Church. Miss Josephine Barbieri, daughter of Mr. and. Mrs. James Barbieri of 117 Gordon avenue, was united in marriage with Samuel Girlando, son of John Girlando of 435 Grand Street Paterson; Father Kilian McFall, O.F.M. The church was beautifully decorated with palms and the altar was decorated with lilacs. The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, was attired in a gown of appliqued mousseline-de-soie, with a veil of tulle crown of seed pearls. She carried a prayer book ornamented ay orcnios The maid of honor, the bride's sister, wore yellow chartreuse mousseline-de-soie, and carried bouque of snap dragons. The groom's best man was his cousin John Girlando. A reception was held for the immediate families and friends at Totowa Borough fire house after which the couple left for a honeymoon trip.

MARILYN COOPER. AGE: 70 EAST BRUNSWICK Marilyn R. Mason Cooper died Sunday, October 12, 2008, at Saint Peter's University Hospital, New Brunswick. She was 70. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, she lived in Paterson before moving to East Brunswick 37 years ago. Mrs. Cooper was a preschool teacher. She was a lifelong member of the East Brunswick Garden Club, and was active in the NJ State Garden Club. She was predeceased by a brother, Randall Mason. Surviving are her husband of 49 years, Garry; two daughters, Jennifer Possenriede and her husband Ken of Moorestown and Laurel Cooper and her husband Jeff Simons of Stamford, Connecticut, and three grandchildren, Emily and Alex Possenriede and Annaliese Simons. Matthew Barbieri PATERSON Funeral services will be tomorrow for Matthew A. Barbieri, 57, of 258 Berkshire Ave., who died Friday at home. He was born in Paterson and lived in the Stoney Road section for 46 years. He operated a barber shop for 25 years on Nagle Street and for the last 14 years he worked for the Paterson Public Works. He was past president of the Pompei Lyceum and a member of the Master Journeymen Barbers Association. Surviving are his widow, the former Mary D'Annunzio; a son, Pat, who is a member of the Paterson Police Department; a daughter, Mrs. Bart (Joanne) Zisa of Little Falls; a brother, Anthony of Paterson; four sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth DeMaio of Little Ferry, Mrs. Sarah Carangelo of Bayonne, Mrs. Alfred (Mamie) Giannetti and Mrs. Salvatorre (Catherine) Giannetti both of West Paterson.
