Notes - A number of records refer to his wife as Mary (nee Scott) Straiton and some to Elizabeth Bridge. According to the death record Elizabeth Bridge was born in 1854 which would make her 15 years younger than Joseph and 13 years old when William was born so something is incorrect. There's also a marriage certificate for Elizabeth showing her as being married the same day as the death certificate. Marriage certificate for daughter Elizabeth show mothers maiden name as Mary McGarrigle. Birth certificate for William J shows mother as Mary Mcgarvie.
Some family trees show her as first being married to Patrick McGarvie who died in 1870 and a son named Patrick born 1871. Married to Joseph in 1879.
